AFTER JUST HAVING FINALLY FINISHED LEAVES OF GRASSI enjoyed reading Whitman's LEAVES OF GRASS (having finally read it-- the deathbed edition)
And I enjoyed it even more for its Annexes (though I was, long before them, just waiting for the book to end)
As they made the book so much more like
a Life (long (if one's lucky), arduous, vibrant, loved, hated, reviled, lived, rejected, seen, objective, subjective, observant, accepted, respected, forgotten, remembered (again and again), repeated, experienced and ended, though not ending, entirely, or ever)
And like Life, though I enjoy it (that is, the book and Life),
I doubt I will ever be able to read it twice.
