These, and a whole bunch of other candidate cards are included in packs of 2008 TOPPS Baseball cards. Kinda crazy. Kinda doesn't make sense. But it's also kinda cool.

I couldn't help myself. I went and ordered the complete set of 12. There was one vendor selling it for $17.99, which convinced me I needed to act now; considering the rest are selling it for at least $10 more.
. Does everybody else find Hillary Clinton comparing herself to Rocky just totally ridiculous and laughable? I mean, for one thing-- Rocky? Come on. And, hey, I'm a huge fan of the first two Rocky movies, but, as a politician you are comparing yrself to Rocky? Really? No, I mean, really? Not to mention how fucking transparent it is for her to compare herself to a fictional character that's from Philly while campaigning in Philadelphia. I mean, seriously-- so fucking cheesy. Secondly, HILLARY WAS NEVER THE UNDERDOG! You know, if you show up to the fight as the favorite and you start losing you do not become the underdog, you just become the loser.
Here's a good article written by "Grassroots Mom" that compares the two senator's voting record in 2007. It's a factual representation that shows Obama authors more radical bills and finds support and cosponsorship of his bills from both parties:
It's a misleading title. I guess she titled it that because she originally believed Obama to be less "experienced" than Hillary, until she actually took a look at their voting records.
. I missed the debate last night because msnbc.com's online feed wasn't working-- and I checked every ten fucking minutes! Did anybody else catch it? I had to follow it last night by reading the "live blogging" on msnbc.com, which was simply terrible. They would leave these quick remarks about something the candidates just said without explaining anything. Really confusing and impossible to follow.
Anyway, my impression is that it once again was a draw. But curious if anyone else saw it and thinks differently?
“As we all know,” Degeneres noted, “Obama has now won 11 states in a row. What needs to happen to change the momentum?”
Clinton was ready with an answer about her now well-known comeback plan, but she accidentally swapped out one state for another that must also be on her brain: “Well, we’re going to win Ohio and Michigan!”
From Sonya, a commenter on CNN.com, regarding Hillary Clinton's closing comments of last night's debate:
"Her ending was eloquent…too bad it was a lie. Clinton claims that she sat there watching the wounded warriors walk down the red carpet at the opening at the Center for the Intrepid. She is lying. I was at the opening for the Center for the Intrepid and witnessed Hillary Clinton and her entourage pull up 15 minutes late, well after the wounded soldiers had been seated and the ceremony had begun. It was rude and showed how little she cared for the audience that day."
By the way, if you were confused as to the standing ovation that occurred after Hillary's statement, the standing ovation was, in fact, for both candidates, as Hillary's final statement marked the end of the debate. It was not because the audience was *so* inspired by Hillary's final comments. Though, I too, agree, that her final statement was eloquent and somewhat moving.
According to the shitload of analysts I listented to yesterday, the race for the Democratic nomination is still very close, and very much Obama's to win. They seem to think most of the states yet to vote are likely to vote for Obama. So, there's more voting Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday. Those of you in the states listed above, don't forget to get out and vote, and most importantly, vote for Obama.

.
By the way, did everyone else get chills during Barack's speech last night when he said, "We are the people we've been waiting for"?
I hadn't heard about this, but in Iowa and New Hampshire Hillary was telling groups of women that Obama was weak on Pro Choice issues, and in New Hampshire was actually sending out direct mail claiming Obama was weak on Pro Choice issues. This woman worked for Hillary Clinton's campaign, and was at one point president of NOW in Chicago. She says she knows Obama's record on these issues is in 100% support of Pro Choice and that she left Hillary Clinton's campaign 3 weeks ago because of these bold faced lies and dirty, underhanded tactics. She now supports Barack Obama.
Hillary is running her campaign in much the same way George Bush ran his against McCain, and then later against Kerry with the Swift Boat BS.
IF she's running her campaign in the same way as Bush has, why would you think she would perform her duties as president any different?
. If you do not yet know who you're voting for, as a Democrat or Independent, in the Democratic Primary because you think the candidates are all relatively similar, here's a good, concise and clear TOP 10 reasons for why you, as a Democrat or Independent, should vote for Barack Obama. Overall, though, really, isn't the fact that he's THE ONLY ONE of all candidates running for president to have voted against the invasion of Iraq enough of a difference? He's the only one to have the foresight to oppose one of the biggest mistakes the U.S. has ever made. That, right there, to me, speaks volumes.
Secondly, if yr leaning towards Hillary, don't you find the way she *and* her husband are running *their* campaign kind of despicable, disgusting, dishonest and wrong? If you think it's okay to regularly spread lies, and that attempts to suppress votes is the way to win office, I think you've succumbed to the Bush era and given up hope.
But, anyway, if you can't make up yr mind based just on Hillary's dirty politics, then be sure to check out the Top 10 reasons to VOTE OBAMA link up there.
The Clintons *claim* to have nothing to do with the teacher's union having filed a lawsuit trying to prevent caucuses from being held at the casinos in Nevada; however, both of them, in their vehement denials of having anything to do with the lawsuit, said they agree with the lawsuit.
FUCK YOU, CLINTONS!
Plain and simple: This lawsuit was brought forth to make it difficult for a significant faction of Nevada voters to place their ballots at caucus.
Plain and simple: ANY tampering with American citizens' right to vote, or access to voting, is WRONG!
Plain and simple: This lawsuit didn't happen until 8 days ago, when it became clear that the caucuses in these casinos don't appear to support Hillary Clinton.
Plain and simple: The Clintons are fucking liars. They do it over and over again, and have for a long time now.
Thankfully the judge in Nevada wasn't crooked and threw the lawsuit out.
. BTW, if you don't have cable (like me) you can follow the primaries thru msnbc.com. They air a lot of the coverage online. I'm watching the Democratic Debate right now. You should, too.
VOTE OBAMA

ADDENDUM
HOT DAMN the candidates for the Democratic Party are strong! This is an exciting time. What I really hope is for Obama to be the Democrat's candidate, and for John Edwards to be his running mate. Seriously, I'm for Obama, but Edwards, in my book, runs a VERY close second. He is passionate about change, and he's a bit more radical about his desire for change-- such as his desire to stop the construction of more nuclear power plants in the country, or his dedication to having absolutely no military force (outside of those protecting the American embassy) within Iraq after we have withdrawn. As well, when Edwards ran for president in the last elections I believed he meant every word he said and would do his damnedest to fulfill every meaningful agenda he proposed. And I still think that. He, like Obama, is an inspiring speaker and an inspiring candidate.
As for Obama, the man speaks the truth. And he's been solid from the beginning, such as his voting against the invasion of Iraq, which speaks to me of a candidate with a clear understanding of how things should be run, and of a candidate that distinctly knows the difference between right and wrong. I thought the fact that he was the only one of the three candidates to vote against the bankruptcy reform-- the one that made it harder to declare bankruptcy and the one that does not forgive the debts of the person declaring bankruptcy-- also shows that Obama is simply of real strong conviction and judgment. Lastly, I'm choosing Obama over Edwards because I believe him to be the one to more efficiently create change in the White House and in America and in our foreign policies and relations because I honestly believe in his ability to communicate clearly and eloquently, his ability to bring factions together, and his absolute commitment to his ideas, ideals, and the American people.
I will say, too, that I believe Hillary is also a strong candidate. I am not interested in voting for her because I don't believe she's as strongly committed to real reform and change within our government for numerous reasons, but firstly for how she has attacked Obama and Edwards simply for HOPING. HOPE is absolutely essentially to bring about BIG CHANGE. This government is in dire need of big change, and has been since before (and while) Bill Clinton was in office. Hillary speaks to the status quo of the way the White House has been run, and I don't think we'd see a whole lot change with her as our president. Secondly, I do not find Hillary Clinton's communication skills to be on par with Obama's, and I'm not fond of her "35 years of experience" rhetoric because that's a complete farce, and, quite simply, a bold-faced lie. As well, I don't think a vast amount of experience in the White House is necessary for a candidate running for president, especially when we're so evidently in need of someone that's not already been beaten down by the "system" so badly that they can't even begin to HOPE for a change within that system, and furthermore would browbeat those that do.
I think if Obama is president with Edwards as the VP that this country would certainly begin going in the right direction within Obama's first term. Then, after Obama's presidency, Edwards can run for president with a strong backing from the Democratic Party. I think they both would be very good for this country and its future.
